Description

Tank Size:
  • Minimum 10 gallons for a small group (5+ individuals)

Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: 74-82°F (23-28°C)
  • pH: 7.0-8.5
  • Salinity: Brackish water preferred (1.005-1.010 SG) but can tolerate freshwater
  • Ammonia & Nitrites: 0 ppm
  • Nitrates: Below 20 ppm
Tank Setup:
  • Fine sand or smooth gravel substrate (prevents injury)
  • Driftwood, caves, and rock formations for hiding spots
  • Moderate water flow to replicate natural estuaries
  • Live plants that tolerate brackish water, like Java fern and Anubias
Tank Mates:
  • Best kept in species-only tanks or with other small, peaceful brackish fish
  • Avoid fast-moving, aggressive, or overly large tank mates
Diet & Feeding:
