  • Minimum 180 gallons for a single adult
  • 250+ gallons recommended for a mixed community

Tank Setup:
  • Plenty of swimming space, as it is an active, open-water swimmer
  • Live rock for grazing and establishing territory
  • Strong water flow to mimic natural reef currents
  • Secure lid, as it may jump when stressed
Tank Mates:
  • Best kept as the only tang in the tank due to its aggressive nature
  • Compatible with larger, semi-aggressive fish that can hold their own
  • Avoid other Acanthurus tangs to prevent territorial disputes
Diet & Feeding:
  • Primarily herbivorous, requiring a diet rich in marine algae, seaweed (nori), and spirulina
  • Will also accept high-quality herbivore pellets and frozen foods
  • Feed multiple times per day to maintain health and reduce aggression
