  • Water Parameters:
    • Temperature: 74–82°F (23–28°C)
    • pH: 8.1–8.4
    • Salinity: 1.020–1.025
    • Water Flow: Moderate to strong

Size & Lifespan:

  • Adult Size: Up to 20 inches (50 cm)
  • Lifespan: 10–20 years with proper care

Behavior & Tank Mates:

  • Semi-aggressive—can be territorial, especially toward other angelfish.
  • Best kept alone or with large, semi-aggressive species like tangs, triggerfish, and groupers.
  • Not reef-safe—they nip at corals, sponges, and invertebrates.

Diet & Feeding:

  • Omnivorous—requires a varied diet of:
    • Marine algae & seaweed
    • Sponges & tunicates (found in high-quality angelfish food)
    • Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, krill
    • Pellets & flakes enriched with vitamins
  • Feed 2–3 times a day to maintain health and coloration.

Additional Care Tips:

  • Requires plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding spots.
  • Can be shy when first introduced, but becomes bold over time.
  • Prone to marine diseases (like ich) and requires pristine water conditions.
